Is It for You?

Computer engineers influence the way we work and play in our technology-driven, interconnected world. You’ll use scientific and practical knowledge in digital circuit technology to build electronics systems and devices that benefit lives. Create hardware, firmware, software and interfacing systems that let computers communicate with each other and the world. Enhance your skills through an optional paid co-operative internship, an optional specialization in Management Sciences and Engineering Innovation and Entrepreneurship, a summer research internship and leading-edge research projects.

After Graduation

Offer new products and processes in areas such as software programming, systems and data management; health-care systems, consumer electronic devices and chips; as well as communication systems and the electronics service industry. You may work as an electrical engineer, electronics engineer, IT consultant, systems analyst or network engineer. Or, pursue graduate studies (MEng, MASc, PhD) in electrical and computer engineering.

“Computer Engineers distinguish themselves with their versatile set of skills: they can design and build computers, interface them with the outside world and make them talk to each other, develop firmware and also create system-level and user/application-level software.”
